EXCERPT from Street Photography by Helene Kobelnyk in VIVAcini! 14 Sep 2012
One of the most fascinating genres of photography
is a style that evolved from the documentary type and
is referred to as “street photography.” It’s one of the
fastest growing and most popular areas of art, and
these photographers make it clear that they are not
“paparazzi” and not photojournalists, but artists.
Rather than seeking out celebrities or staging a
scene, they focus on the “common” and every day
occurrences with the purpose of giving the world
a pure vision of the society they are observing.
