Dear Kat,


How does one change a coping mechanism? I’ve learned to prepare


for the worst. I had to at a young age, when dealing with


divorce and conflicts with my mother when at times the worst


did happen. I want to learn to look to the brighter side of things


instead of only the bad but I fear the pain of being crushed. I’ve


thought that accepting the worst would shield me from the brunt


of it but it doesn’t, it just “confirms” my fears. I’ve been praying on

it but it creeps back in … a constant battle I have to win!

a new habit or skill, but I am

not sure that is really your problem . . .
